Aquatic Supervisor

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of two swim instructors (schedules, clocking in/out, employee evaluations)
  • Organize and execute preseason swimming set up and post season close and staff training
  • Establish and execute daily staff procedures, for example, tidy away swim equipment
  • Take ownership over the swimming program; create, teach and supervise classes on-land and on-water
  • Manage, inspire and encourage staff development and growth of approximately two swimming instructors
  • Implement and monitor all safety plans and policies
  • Must have a safety-first mindset with strong leadership, communication and coaching skills
  • Ability to provide a safe and fun environment for our Juniors and swimming instructors
  • Manage all Lifesaving Society certifications and provide student evaluation
  • Teaching, instruct and lifeguard a range of levels from toddlers to advanced leadership Lifesaving Society courses
  • Communicate with members in a positive and friendly manner
  • Communicate effectively with the Programs Manager
Qualifications:
  • Lifesaving Society Instructors
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED
  • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard
  • Lifesaving Society Aquatic Supervisor (not essential)
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Police Record Check (dated within 6 months of start date)
  • Capable and experienced in teaching both practical and theoretical
  • Certification of each award must not expire prior to September 1st
Period of Employment:
  • Seasonal (Mid June to end of August)
  • Full time

Swimming Instructor

Responsibilities:
  • Performing instructional and lifeguard duties in accordance with program guidelines set out by the Lifesaving Society
  • Maintain a consistent level of member service through commitment to excellence and professionalism
  • Participation in staff training and development programs
  • Instruct and lifeguard a range of levels from toddlers to advanced leadership courses and provide student evaluation
  • Assisting the Aquatic Supervisor with administrative duties including schedules, evaluations, feedback, statistical reports, inventory and program promotion
  • Other tasks as assigned
  • Assist with weekly Family Nights
Qualifications:
  • Lifesaving Society Instructors
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Police Record Check (dated within 6 months of start date)
  • Certification of each award must not expire prior to September 1st
